Who's Who of Veronica Mars — Y

Yankee Doodle

A deviant and mischief maker, Yankee also suffered from a poor education, often mistaking feathers for macaroni and refusing to acknowledge that it was, in fact, not a piece of macaroni, but a feather. He also was "handy" was girls, which brought him into conflict with many of the girls' fathers. For some reason, he's thought of as an inspirational American and Rashad Krimani declares that he is a "Yankee Doodle damn dandy," perhaps showing why his daughter was having premarital hanky-panky in 3.16 "Un-American Graffiti."

Yarbrough, Chester

A recipient of the "Emission from Mars" dirty email. Chester's name rhymes with "child molester," but that probably doesn't mean he is one. It also rhymes with "fester," which is probably what Veronica is going to let him do in 3.20 "The Bitch Is Back."

See Sukarenko, Yevgeni
Yi, Wang

Hearst College student. No relation to anyone in the band Wang Chung, as far as we know. This Wang is the mysterious Asian guy who appears with in a late-night ATM photo. Potential rapist? Turns out he's Claire's boyfriend. Wang Yi confuses everyone in 3.05 "President Evil."

-topanga

Yo La Tengo

Indie rock band. Yeah, you thought they were Menudo's cousins or something, right? But that's not how Piz rolls! These guys are indie rock icons, man. They've been around for over twenty years, and all the cool kids still love them, and all the regular kids still think they're Menudo's cousins. Piz doesn't love them more than Veronica's lips, though, so it's a good thing he skipped their concert to back her up at Parker's birthday party in 3.16 "Un-American Graffiti."

Yobandi

One of the 4400. Or thereabouts. Names. In a phone book. Here is a screenshot. Make up your own snark. Make up your own last name, something preceding Feniress. We're too lazy. Damn you, Rick, and your attention to detail in 2.03 "Cheatty Cheatty Bang Bang."

-Inigo

Yoders, The

The Amish family in 3B who have the same answering machine as the Mars family. Veronica's probably always running into their llamas. Hey, perhaps that's who Logan donated his alpacas to when his house burned down! Or perhaps she was merely joking in 3.19 "Weevils Wobble But They Don't Go Down."

Yolanda Hamilton
See Hamilton, Yolanda
Yorick

Fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. We would call him a character in Hamlet, but only his skull appears. No, his literal skull. Made of bone, with the worms crawling in and the worms crawling out. Eww. Alas, poor Yorick! We knew him in 2.09 "My Mother, the Fiend."

Young, Clifford

A member of the Castle in 1932. Clifford fell in love with a local prostitute, who then became pregnant with a daughter. Although the Castle urged him to pay off the prostitute and forget about the child, he decided to raise her and in return, when she grew up, married, and had a child, she named him after his grandfather. Or something. Okay, we made that up. Shut up! You try writing ninety bios for names that appeared for two seconds on-screen! Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh! *rips hair out* [Editor's note: the writer of this bio has been sacked. Please wait for a new bio writer. Thank you and we're sorry for the inconvienence.] Cliff's name appeared on Jake Kane's hard drive in 3.20 "The Bitch Is Back."

Young Mother

A good citizen. She shepherds her two young boys to come forward to finger Weevil for Thumper's death. What she doesn't do is explain what her sproglets were doing alone at night in a van parked in a dark street, and in a position to witness Weevil take Thumper down, as he did in 2.17 "Plan B." Child protection services really should have been asking questions in 2.21 "Happy Go Lucky."

-Inigo

Played by Maria Valdez.
Young Veronica

Veronica when she isn't old. Isn't she just the cutest thing ever watching her dad's puppet show, seated snugly on a blanket. Isn't she just the cutest thing ever? We'd be slightly weirded out by the sock puppet thing, but she's just happy to sit and giggle. Ooh, innocent times. We think they should stick to Sesame Street in 2.22 "Not Pictured."

-fickledame

Played by Carsyn Spencer.
Yoyo Taco

Menudo's cousins. They rose to prominence in the mid-eighties with their hit single, "El Taco Grande Es Muy Bonito." The mid-nineties found them living up to their yo-yo name, as they hit rock bottom, with lead singer Maria Quesadilla stuck in rehab. Ten years later, however, they're hot again! As is Maria, rowr! Okay, fine, there is no Yoyo Taco. Wallace just can't say "Yo La Tengo" in 3.16 "Un-American Graffiti."
