Shelly Pomroy

Once Rob Thomas actually gives Shelly a line, we'll give her a quote.

Veronica was drugged and raped at an 09er party at Shelly's house. Her dad served as ambassador to Belgium. I know, not exactly the most interesting bio, but what do you expect from this button-nosed character who has yet to utter a single word?

We don't know the name of the actress who plays Shelly Pomroy. She might have appeared in 1.01 "Pilot," 1.02 "Credit Where Credit's Due," 1.06 "Return of the Kane," 1.10 "An Echolls Family Christmas," and 1.15 "Ruskie Business," but it's kinda hard to tell because she's just a background extra.

Shelly (aka Shelly 2.0)

"What did you just call me?"

Shelly [no last name]. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. [no last name]. She used to be Duncan's girlfriend. Then one day, with no warning, he ended things. Or at least we hope he ended things, otherwise the dating-Meg-Manning Duncan is a two-timing rat.

[Note: Contrary to the opinions stated in Alison MacInnis's interview, Mr. Rob Thomas confirmed that backseat Shelly and Shelly Pomroy are indeed the same Shelly. Geez, the writers really need to start referring to each and every single character by their full names to avoid this type of confusion! ]

Alison MacInnis plays Shelly in 1.03 "Meet John Smith".

Shelly Pomroy (aka Shelly 3.0)

[moan, giggle]

Forget about Veronica, the real victim of Shelly's party was Shelly Pomroy. Poor thing was so traumatized by the events of that night that she changed her hair color, hair style, build, and face in the second set of flashbacks.

Melissa Hoover plays Shelly Pomroy 3.0 in 1.22 "Leave It to Beaver".

Shelly Pomroy (aka Shelly 4.0?)

You can't have a Veronica Mars season without having a Shelly controversy, and once again Rob has managed to confound us with yet another Shelly question.

Because of a crooked drug test, Shelly Pomroy took over Meg's spot as head cheerleader. Is this head-cheerleader Shelly the blonde, wordless Shelly 1.0 from the beginning of season 1? The no-last-name Shelly from 1.03 "Meet John Smith"? Or is she the brunette, moaning Shelly 2.0 from 1.21 "A Trip to the Dentist"?

We dunno. All we know for sure is that we are the ONLY site insane enough to devote four bios to a character who has only spoken six words.

Shelly 5.0 (aka Shelly Pomroy?)

You can't close out a Veronica Mars season without having a Shelly controversy, and once again Rob has managed to confound us with yet another Shelly question.

After Veronica turns down Dick's gracious hook-up offer, Dick offers to introduce Shelly to his hog. Which Shelly is he talking to? The blonde, fully-clothed Shelly 1.0 from the beginning of season 1? The blonde, would-be-naked-if-Duncan-had-bothered-remembering-her-name Shelly 2.0 from 1.03 "Meet John Smith"? The brunette, watch-me-make-out-with-a-semi-conscious-Veronica Shelly 3.0 from 1.21 "A Trip to the Dentist"? Or is this a completely new Shelly that the writers have decided to introduce?

Personally, I hope it's Shelly 1.0. I miss that cute button nose. Knowing Dick, and it's damn unfortunate that we do, it would definitely be the moaning, girl-grinding Shelly 3.0. Knowing the writers, it would be a brand-spanking-new Shelly because they are Just. That. Evil.
