Mac's room: Veronica and Mac sit quietly together, watching an upset Parker talk to a female officer. They both look miserable, blaming themselves for not stopping the rape. Lamb enters the room, sees Veronica, smiles, and then callously asks if he's there because of her and implies that Veronica's rape was a wolf cry. Veronica, expecting this from Lamb, just smiles back. The female officer tells Lamb that, like all the other rape victims, Parker doesn't remember anything. Lamb talks to Parker himself, asking her what time she got back to her dorm room, but Parker says she doesn't know. Veronica hesitantly says that the rape occurred at around 11:45pm. She explains that she entered the room last night to get the movie tickets and heard breathing and buzzing, which she thought was just Parker having consensual sex. Lamb grills Veronica about thinking that the buzzing noise came from something else other than an electric razor. Parker yells at Veronica for thinking that she is a slut and blames her for letting the rape happen. Veronica tries to apologize, but Parker just storms out of the room crying, leaving Veronica feeling even worse.
Desert: Keith limps through the desert, using a long stick for support. There's a loud snap, and Keith stumbles forward. The stick, not his leg, is caught in an animal trap.
Hearst lecture room: Dr. Kinny, the Intro to Sociology professor, shows his class a slideshow of the notorious photos of American soldiers torturing Iraqis at Abu Ghraib prison. He says that as long as there have been prisons and soldiers, there's been torture. He then asks people to raise their hand if they saw these pictures and thought to themselves that they'd never do such a thing to a human being. Wallace and the majority of the students raise their hand, but Logan does not. Dr. Kinny remarks that only two or three of them are right. He then tells the class that they have a 20-page research project due at the end of term. Alternatively, they can participate in his 48 hour experiment on the prisoner/guard relationship in which participants are assigned those roles. He explains that if during those 48 hours the guards are able to extract from the prisoners some arbitrary piece of information, they will be exempt. But if the prisoners manage to keep their secret, they are exempt, and the losing team will only have to do a 10-page paper. Both Wallace and Logan volunteer.
Wallace's room: Wallace walks through the open door of his room and finds Veronica lying on his bed. She has her eyes closed and her fingers on her temples and tells him that she's trying to turn her unbearable guilt into steely resolve. He says that's she's had plenty of practice. She sits up and decidedly says that she's going to catch the rapist and see him crucified. She then tells him that she has an interview with the college newspaper, which she hears pays for photos. There's a knock on the door and Moe, the RA, walks in and hands them the dorm's new safety rules which have come about as a result of this latest rape incident. He tells Wallace that there's a floor meeting that night, but Wallace says he can't make it due to the sociology experiment. Moe says that he did the experiment last year, and that it was pretty intense and life changing.
Desert: Cormac walks through the desert carrying a large bottle of water, looking for Keith. He sees a footprint in the earth and assumes it to be Keith's. Elsewhere in the desert, Keith is exhausted, but to his relief, he finds a railroad track and follows it.
The Newspaper Office: A young woman working at the newspaper, Nish, flips through Veronica's portfolio of photographs and says that they are great. She tells Veronica that some other freshman had given her hundreds of pictures of his grandmother sleeping. They laugh at Veronica's photo of a Neptune High cheerleader picking a wedgie. Veronica says that she's willing to take on any assignment since there's an undesirable position awaiting her at the library if she doesn't get this newspaper position. Nish says that she's got a perfect assignment for Veronica and shows her the Zeta Theta Beta's Rush Week poster with a photo of the sorority sisters all dressed in floral dresses. Veronica makes a snide remake that it's the gateway to hell. Nish tells Veronica that the latest rape victim, meaning Parker, was at a sorority party at the Theta Beta house before her rape. Veronica asks if Nish thinks the sorority has something to do with the rape. Nish responds that there are a lot of rumors about what goes on in the sorority house, so she wants Veronica to go undercover and do an exposé on them. Veronica tells Nish that she doubts that she's their type, listing her attributes as combative, independent-thinking, and smart-mouthed. Nish dismisses her protests and says that Veronica will blend right in. Veronica tries again, saying that all the floral dresses she has are trampy. Nish ignores this and says that the Theta Beta parties are notorious for free-flowing booze and boys, and according to four reliable sources, the Theta Betas get pledges all liquored up, take them to a secret room, and have them undress while the guys from their brother fraternity watch the show through a two-way mirror. Veronica interrupts and says that Nish had her at "secret room."
Mac's room: Parker despairingly tells Mac that her parents are coming to take her home. She says that her mom thought she was too immature to be on her own and never wanted her to go away to college. Not knowing what else to say, Mac says that it might be best for Parker to be with her family. Parker resigns herself to the fact that she's going home.
Hearst Veronica walks up to the Theta Beta house dressed in a red and white floral dress. Her voice over sarcastically asks what's worse: getting girls to undress in front of a two-way mirror or getting them to dress like a '50s vacuum ad first.
Zeta Theta Beta House: A Theta Beta sister, Hallie, opens the door. She perkily invites Veronica in. Inside, the Zeta Theta Beta choir is singing an altered version of "Sing Low, Sweet Chariot." Another Theta Beta sister, Shania, tells Veronica that she has to take Veronica's purse, saying that it's a house thing. Veronica uncomfortably obliges, her voice over wishing for the booze, boys, and secret room so she can get the frak out of there. Veronica sits between Hallie and Shania, drinking lemonade and pretending to enjoy listening to them enthusiastically talk about how wonderful the Theta Beta sorority is. Another Theta Beta sister interrupts and offers Veronica more lemonade. Veronica subtly asks if there's any chance there is alcohol in it. She says no, it's against house policy. She then introduces herself as Marjorie and kindly takes Veronica to the kitchen, away from Hallie, Shania, and the choir. Veronica enquires about why they take away purses. Marjorie mysteriously says that Veronica will find out soon. Marjorie then introduces Veronica to Karen, their den mother.
The Prison Experiment: Dr. Kinny and the group of volunteers are in an unused dorm, which will serve as the "prison" for the experiment. Dr. Kinny divides the group into guards and prisoners. Wallace is made guard and Logan is a prisoner. He then explains the rules, saying that sleep deprivation is allowed but not any other kind of physical abuse and that the prisoners have to be fed edible food. He warns them that they will be monitored throughout the experiment. He then reveals to the prisoners the location of a bomb which will go off in 48 hours. If the guards cannot extract the location of the bomb from the prisoners before it goes off, the prisoners will win. Logan and Wallace are both convinced that their side will win, so they make a side bet with each other that the loser has to streak across campus. The experiment begins. One of the guards, Rafe, screams at the prisoners to get in their cell. He then barks orders to remove the mattresses, books, and bags. A dorky-looking prisoner, Samuel Horshack, asks to use the bathroom. Rafe declares that the prisoners have to use the bathroom together and that there will only be three bathroom breaks a day. Samuel objects, saying that he needs to go now. This only aggravates Rafe, who starts insulting Samuel about his surname. Rafe baits Samuel that he can use to bathroom if he reveals the location of the bomb. Samuel backs down and doesn't reveal the location. Rafe and Wallace go out to the hallway, and Wallace tells Rafe to stop with the abuse. Rafe responds that he's just playing the part.
Desert: Cormac walks along the railway tracks and spots a pen sticking out of the ground. It's a Vinnie Van Lowe pen. There's a loud snap, and his leg gets caught in an animal trap.
Veronica's car: Veronica walks out of the sorority house to her car. She finds in the front seat a bouquet of flowers with a card attached telling her she's been selected to attend a private party that night and to "dress to impress."
Desert: Liam, gun in hand, walks up to Cormac lying on the ground, bleeding. Liam demands to know where the money is. Cormac says that he only found some of the money, but most of it is missing and he doesn't know where it is. Liam, unconvinced, tries a few more times to make Cormac talk but doesn't get anywhere, so he shoots and (presumably) kills Cormac.
Zeta Theta Beta Party: Veronica debates what "dress to impress" means as she walks up the steps to the Theta Beta party. She's wearing a cream skirt with a jacket. She cautiously opens the door and Shania comes running down the stairs in a tight mini-dress. She's excited Veronica made it, as she slides open another door to reveal a party in full swing.
Hallie greets Veronica with a glass of alchohol, asking if she wants a Panty-Dropper. Veronica's voiceover says "jackpot" as she takes the drink. She asks if Hallie is going to have one, who replies she will be having more than one. While Hallie's not looking, Veronica pours the contents of the drink into someone else's abandoned cup. She introduces Veronica to a Pi Sigma Sigma brother who is shirtless except for a bowtie collar and tells her the Pi Sigs are Theta Beta's brother fraternity. She says the frat boys bartend for their rush parties. Hallie says that she hopes Veronica doesn't have a boyfriend because there are so many cute newbies at the party. She points out Dick, and Veronica quickly pretends they are old friends, much to Dick's confusion, so that he won't give her away.
Marjorie walks up as Hallie hands Veronica another drink. She tells Veronica that the party is the reason they take their purses — but as Veronica doesn't live on campus, they couldn't leave the invite in her dorm and had to get creative by leaving it in her car. Veronica's voice over points out that it meant anyone at the party had access to Parker's room. Marjorie takes Veronica to meet Chip, the chairman of the Pi Sigmas. He looks annoyed and says that Veronica accused him of rape the year before. Veronica laughs it off as a joke.
Kretchmer County's Sheriff's Department: Two police officers talk outside the station as they get into a patrol car. One of them notices Keith standing there, looking muddy and tired. He asks Keith if he's okay, and Keith says that there has been a murder, and he can take them there.
Zeta Theta Beta House: Veronica dances manically in the center of the floor, circled by other party-goers. She's now taken her jacket off and is wearing a much tighter top. She's acting like she's drunk so that someone will try and get her to take off her clothes. Two other frat girls come and join her, and the three bump and grind. Veronica spots a camera above a locked door, grabs a chair, and climbs up on it, pointing out the camera in a drunken way. Marjorie, who is talking to Chip, walks over to her and says she wants to show Veronica something. The frat boys boo as they lead her out.
They walk down some stairs, as Veronica gets out her stun-gun and hides it under her jacket. When she reaches the outside, Marjorie and Chip are waiting for her. Marjorie says she thinks it's time Veronica went home because she's losing cool-points with the sorority girls and she's Marjorie's favorite rush. She explains that Chip will wait with her for a Safe Ride Home cart to arrive to take Veronica home.
The Prison Experiment: Rafe brings the prisoners food. They look disgusted and point out that one of the guards have to eat it. Wallace enthusiastically does so. Samuel says that he can't eat it. Rafe mocks him and Logan tucks in.
Outside the Zeta Theta Beta House: Veronica pretends to throw up in some bushes to keep Chip away from her. The cart arrives and Fern from the anti-rape rally grumpily greets her. Chip tells Fern she has to take Veronica to her friend's dorm because she's a commuter. As they drive, Fern rants to Veronica about girls like her who get tarted up and drunk. She says they are lucky to end up with a shaved head — the greeks are evil. Veronica tries to convince her she's not really drunk and was just pretending for a story. She promises she's on Fern's side as she touches her nose and says the alphabet backwards to prove it. Veronica asks Fern if she picked up anyone at a rush party the night before. Fern says she didn't, but she tells Veronica that there is more than one cart out each night. Fern has had enough of Veronica and demands that Veronica gets out.
The Prison Experiment: Rafe tries to put the prisoners off as they use the bathroom. Samuel says it's hard for him to go when Rafe is yelling at him. Rafe asks Samuel if he's homosexual as Wallace looks uncomfortable.
House in the Desert: The police can't find a body. One comments that it looks like a robbery, not a murder. Keith says they tore the place up looking for the victim's money. One of the officers finds some blood on a picture frame. Keith looks at the picture with dawning realization.
The Prison Experiment: Logan tries to sleep against a wall until Rafe bursts in playing Escape (the Piña Colada Song). Logan wakes up and says he will tell Rafe what he wants to know. He makes Rafe get closer and closer until he confirms that he does in fact like Piña Coladas...and getting caught in the rain. Samuel laughs and Rafe makes him stand up — showing that he'd wet himself. Rafe points it out to everyone while laughing. Samuel asks for his spare change of pants, but Rafe won't get them.
Mars Apartment: Veronica goes into the kitchen in her pajamas to get a drink. She spots Keith sitting in the dark, which makes her jump. She asks why he didn't tell her he was going to be back a day late, and he apologizes. She jokingly suggests he's got a girl stashed away, until he buries his head in his hands. Veronica, concerned, asks what's wrong, sitting next to him. He tells her he screwed up and someone got hurt. Veronica cuddles with him, as she tells him she knows how he feels.
The Prison Experiment: Wallace taste-tests the pig knuckles they are making the prisoners eat. Samuel says he can't eat it — he's Jewish and he keeps kosher. Rafe notices he's wearing a clean pair of pants and demands to know where he got them from. Rafe says Samuel has to go into solitary, where he can pretend he's hiding from the Germans.
Mac and Parker's Room: Mac lays on her bed. Parker tries on wigs while her mother critiques them. Her mom says she should have a wig that doesn't draw attention to her. Parker says everyone will know it's a wig anyway and asks Mac her opinion. Parker's mother says Parker can't make decisions for herself and she's immature. She tells her she should have never gone to college, and they are going to take her home.
The Newspaper Office: Nish tells Veronica that the activities at the sorority house sound suspicious but that Veronica needs to find out what's behind the locked door. Veronica tells her that Marjorie checked in on her and suggested she cut down on her drinking. She also says they are voting that night at 7:00. Veronica suggests that if Parker was sent home in a Safe Ride Home cart, the driver may know something. Nish phones a friend to check if anyone drove her home.
Moe's Room: Veronica angrily asks Moe why he didn't tell them that he was the one that drove Parker home the right she was raped. Veronica points out Parker must have been totally out of it and that Moe came to Wallace's room dropping off new rape safety rules but didn't mention that he was the one that took Parker home. Moe says that he didn't know it was Parker or he would have gone to the police. He points out Parker was fine when they left — another girl who wasn't drunk was with him, getting a ride home. Veronica asks for her name and Moe makes a gesture to show he didn't know.
The Prison Experiment: Rafe takes Samuel back into the main room before leaving. Logan claps Samuel on the shoulder, saying hats off and that he would have cracked already, but he forgot the address. Samuel laughs and tells him the address. Omar corrects him with a different address, and they begin to squabble about it.
Zeta Theta Beta House: Veronica's voice over says that Moe's alibi checked out. Teri Wells, an RA, confirmed that she and Moe dropped Parker off. Karen, the den mother, hands Veronica a bottle of water. Veronica says she's so embarrassed; she's not usually like that. Karen says they've all had their moments. Veronica sadly says that she knows they won't vote for her now. Karen tells her that her girls are excellent judges of character and may surprise her. Karen promises to talk to the girls before they vote. She leaves and Veronica rushes over to check through the drawers while she's gone. She see that the feed to the surveillance camera displays in the den mother's room and wonders what's going on. Karen comes back and tells her she doesn't have anything to worry about.
The Prison Experiment: Wallace and another guard are propped against a wall, sleeping. Logan wakes the other prisoners up, and they climb out the window.
Dining Hall: The prisoners sit around a table, having just finished eating. Logan declares it to be the best Frito pie he's ever eaten as Veronica comes up behind him. He asks if it's his conjugal visit. Veronica asks if he's out on good behavior, and Logan confirms that he's not. He says to the rest of the group that they know his girl — her picture is hung in his room to get him through the nights. He asks Veronica to join them, but she says that she's got to go break in while he's broken out. Logan continues to eat until Rafe storms in asking what they're doing. He makes them go back.
Zeta Theta Beta House: Veronica sneaks into the frat while the girls are voting. She covers the camera before she unlocks the mystery door. She comes across an entire farm of marijuana.
The Newspaper Office: Nish looks through Veronica's photos, enthusiastically commenting that it's one frat house down — nine to go. She says Veronica's one of them now and will be a real asset. Veronica tries to stick up for some of the girls, then looks unhappy when she realizes she can't stop what's going to happen.
The Prison Experiment: Rafe yells as Samuel to pee, saying he drank an entire Big Gulp at the food court. Samuel caves and tells him the address, much to Logan's and Omar's disgust. Rafe's attitude changes as they yell at him, telling them to leave Samuel alone.
Hearst College: Veronica gets to her car and finds Marjorie waiting for her. Marjorie says that Karen has cancer. She saw Veronica go into her private room on the camera. She asks what Veronica was looking for. Veronica explains that someone she knew was raped after she left a Theta Beta party and that she thought a clue might be behind the door. Marjorie explains that the marijuana is there because Karen was so sick from the chemo she couldn't move from the floor, and then a botany professor gave her some seeds, telling her it would help her with the pain and nausea. She explains that she'd lose her job and insurance over it. She pleads with Veronica not to say anything.
The Prison Experiment: Samuel apologizes to the prisoners, saying he held out as long as he could. They all ignore him. The professor arrives and Rafe proudly tells him the address. The professor shakes his hand, and tells him that they only got false information. He leaves, telling them to call him if they get accurate intel. Rafe sends Samuel back to solitary and tells a smiling Logan he knows it's down to him.
Hearst College: Veronica phones Nish, saying she made a mistake and Nish can't print the story. She explains that Karen has cancer and is growing the marijuana for medical reasons. Nish points out that there's still the party and the underage drinking. Veronica asks for more time to verify facts. Nish tells her they have the facts and the article is being published.
Zeta Theta Beta House: Veronica knocks on the door, and Karen and Marjorie answer. Veronica apologizes and says there will be an article in the school newspaper, so they should get rid of the drugs. Karen walks off, and Marjorie asks if Veronica wants to know the definition of ironic — Veronica got voted in. They wanted her to be one of them. She closes the door.
Mac and Parker's Room: Mac looks on sadly as Parker gathers her things in an unflattering wig. Parker says she left Mac her number on a card so they can keep in touch. She says she thought they were going to have a blast together, but now everything is ruined. Mac asks her to stay, saying that nothing is ruined, but if she leaves with her parents, everything will be. She says she will have Parker's back from now on. Parker thanks her, and they hug.
The Prison Experiment: The prisoners wait, watching the clock until the time ends. They all begin to celebrate. Wallace asks Omar what the address is, now that it's all over. Logan shouts for him not to, but Omar blurts it out. The professor walks in and congratulates the guards for getting the information. The two guards that had fallen asleep (Wallace and Omar's girlfriend, Julia) were only pretending, and they set the clock forward while the prisoners were out. He says he'll see them in class. Rafe asks Wallace why he wasn't told about the plan, and Wallace explains they were counting on him to act like a jerk.
Mars Apartment: Keith walks in as Veronica eats her breakfast. They joke with each other as Veronica types up all the information she found on the rape case. Chip Diller is always around when something happens, the safety of the Safe Ride Home is questionable and someone in the Theta Betas had the key to Parker's room.
A Museum: A curator looks over the painting Keith has brought him, asking him in shock if he knows how much it's worth. Keith confirms it's worth millions.
Flashback – Mars Investigations: Kendall asks Keith to do something for her. Keith protests he's meeting his daughter in an hour and can't. Kendall says that he thinks he'll change his mind and opens the briefcase to reveal the painting.
A Museum: Keith hands over the papers and tells the curator that the proceeds are to go to the South Neptune Food Bank. The curator is shocked, but he agrees.
Sociology Class: The students all take their seats. Wallace sits next to Samuel and says he has some good news — Rafe won't isn't there today. Samuel says that Rafe has a cold, and Samuel is taking notes for him. Wallace is shocked, and Samuel says that Rafe is a cool guy, he just likes to win. He asks where Logan is, and Wallace smugly says they'll be seeing him real soon. The professor begins the lecture, asking what they learned from the experiment. He asks to hear from one of the participants just as Logan bursts through the door totally naked except for a black mask covering his eyes. He runs through the hall, stops in front of Wallace, and salutes him. Wallace holds his hands up to prevent seeing anything he shouldn't, as Samuel looks disgusted. Logan runs back out the room again as Wallace laughs.
The Library: Veronica explains her lesson in journalism is over, and she's had to get a job in the library. She stacks some books until a newspaper catches her eye. She picks it up and looks sadly at her name on the article, with pictures of marijuana in the sorority displayed. Fern from the Safe Ride Home cart walks up behind her, congratulating her.
