The former Veronica Mars dad who currently stars on CBS' Flashpoint is definitely on board. "Unless they want Paul Giamatti to play Keith Mars," he joking tells Zap2it. "Do you know what I mean?"
"I think they're done with Cupid, and Rob says he's going to go home and write the movie. Now, he's still the executive producer of Party Down, but this is what I heard, that he's actually sitting down and writing the movie."
"I see Jason Dohring at times," he reveals. "Kristen and I text message each other, but it's hard. She's busy. I'm in Toronto. We text message each other about hockey. She's a Red Wings fan. I'm a Leaves fan."

Reaction to the latest VM movie news
February 10, 2009Orlando Sentinel: A Veronica Mars movie?
Think of it as a trial balloon launched by desperate producers/creators/writers and a willing reporter. Or reporters. Ahem.
Veronica Mars could become a movie. Nothing's decided, but there have been "talks" and such involving those involved and whether they'd be willing to get involved if moneymen and women decide to pony up some involvement.
A canceled, atmospheric whodunit series 64 episodes long on a minor network, a cult hit, as we say, and with a star regarded as "hot" in the industry. Kind of. I don't see it happening, but we do like our trial balloons.TV Addict: Good News, Bad News: Monday Night TV, Zac Efron, SNL & VERONICA MARS
Good News: It's official! Rob Thomas will pitch Warner Bros. Studio on the highly anticipated VERONICA MARS movie next week.
